Why are French Bulldogs so expensive?
This may be the most popular question we come across. First it begins with investing in a high quality foundation with pedigrees that show great health, good temperament from other ethical breeders. That can range from $7,000 upwards to $20,000. To maintain health they must be fed a high quality, preferably raw diet with all the necessary supplements which yield yearly costs of approximately $5,000 per dog. Due to their compact size and physical characteristics they require artificial insemination and numerous progesterone testing at $250 per test and $100-$200 per insemination. Using studs from other programs can range from $2,500-$10,000. French Bulldogs require c-sections and depending on location that can range from $1,800-$4,500. Those are just the costs for breeding which does not include the food for puppies, DNA health testing, vaccines, vet visits and the amount of time we dedicate to whelping, weaning and raising puppies. It’s a no-sleep, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week job. We pour our love, experience and heart into ensuring all moms and puppies are healthy, happy and well socialized so they can go to their homes ready to be loved on. We prioritize the health and well-being of our dogs and price them accordingly ensuring their future families will continue to do the same.

Do French Bulldogs come with a lot of allergies?
Allergies are dependent on food and environment. We try our best not to breed any parents who are prone to allergies. A lot of factors can come into play other than food such as what is in your environment. We work closely with all our clients to figure out how to best control or avoid allergies. We are lucky to have a good foundation of parents that do not have any allergies we have encountered. We pay very close attention to their well-being, health, food and environment.
Do Frenchies shed?
Yes! Generally shedding is very minimal. They will shed more before or after a particular season, they will shed their coat and you will notice more hair than usual. After the season has passed the amount of shedding will go back to normal.
Regular brushing can help minimize shedding and keep their coat in good condition. Brushing also helps distribute the natural oils in their skin, promoting a healthy coat. French Bulldogs are known to be low-maintenance in terms of grooming compared to some other breeds.
What is the average weight of a French Bulldog?
The average weight of a French Bulldog can vary, but generally, adult French Bulldogs typically weigh between 16 to 28 pounds (7 to 13 kilograms). Female French Bulldogs may be on the lower end of this range, while males may be on the higher end. It's important to note that individual dogs may fall outside this average range based on factors such as genetics, diet, and overall health.
It's essential to monitor a French Bulldog's weight to ensure they are within a healthy range, as obesity can lead to health issues, particularly given the breed's brachycephalic (short-nosed) characteristics, which can make breathing more challenging. Regular veterinary check-ups and a balanced diet are important for maintaining a French Bulldog's overall health and weight.
